Dr. A. B. C Orjiako (Chairman)
He joined the board in February 2004, and from 1st February, 2005 became the non-executive Chairman. A medical doctor and fellow, West Africa College of Surgeons, he has various business interests including Energy, Petroleum, Trading exploration and Marine Service. In addition, he is and has been Chairman and President of several other high net worth companies and organization and is an accomplished education philanthropist.
Pharm. Matthew O. Azoji (Managing Director/CEO)
Pharm. Azoji graduated from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, where he obtained his B. Pharm (First Class Honours). He went on to obtain an MBA (Marketing) from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Enugu, and an Advanced Management Programme (AMP) from the Lagos Business School, Pan Atlantic University, Lagos.
He obtained certificates in Pharmaceutical Policy & Pharmacoeconomics from Utrecht University in the Netherlands (a WHO Collaborating centre), and went on to get his M.Sc. in Public health from the University of London, International Programmes. He additionally has an M.Phil (Pharmacy Administration) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. Pharm. Azoji is currently a Fellow of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (FPSN) and fellow, West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists (FPCPharm).
Pharm. Matthew Obi Azoji had before now worked with May & Baker at various levels; was the pioneer MD/CEO of CHAN Medi-Pharm Ltd/Gte, and led the executive and management teams of Biovaccines Nigeria Ltd., a public – private partnership company between the Federal Government of Nigeria and May & Baker Nigeria Ltd., from where he joined Neimeth.
Mr. Christopher U. Mmeje (Finance Director)
Mr Mmeje was appointed into the board as Executive Director – Finance on 25th February 2008. He is an accomplished Accountant and Chartered Banker with formidable experience spanning manufacturing, banking and the hospitality Industry. He was Managing Director/CEO of Island Bank, Sao Tome and has expertly managed the finance and credits of some key organizations from the brink into enviable profitability in the last couple of years.
Mazi Sam I. Ohuabunwa, (OFR) Non-Executive Director
He joined Pfizer in 1978 as Pharmaceutical Sales Representative, and since then has steady climbed the rope of success in his career. He was promoted Regional Manager (West African) and Managing Director, Pfizer Products Plc. In June 1993.
He was also appointed Chairman / Chief Executive Officer, Pfizer Products Plc. and Pfizer Specialist Limited. A registered Pharmacist, he is a member and fellow of several pharmaceutical academic and professional bodies in Nigeria and abroad including the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria. He led the (MBO) of Pfizer and was Chairman of Neimeth from inception (1997) to January, 2005.
Engr. Godwin E. Omene (Non-Executive Director)
He was invited into the board as a non-Executive Director on 25th February 2008. Godwin, a first class Graduate of Imperial College of Science and Technology London, was the pioneer Managing Director of NDDC and a retired Deputy Managing director of Shell Petroleum Development Company
He has also been either chairman of Director of several companies spanning the oil industry, security printing, finance/banking and Pharmaceutical business. He was appointed the Group Managing Director of FJ Energy Limited by the European Economic Development Council in April 2007. He is a thorough bred professional with vast board experience.
Prof. Elijah N. Sokomba (Non-Executive Director)
He was invited into the board in a non-executive capacity on 25th February 2008. Mr Sokomba is an accomplished Pharmacist who has garnered considerable experience in Research/ Teaching, University Administration, State Health Service Management and NAFDAC where he was a past Director He has been very involved in the management of the “Fund for Integrated Rural Development and Traditional Medicine” as Secretary/Board Member since 1997. He is also a member of the Technical Committee on collation of Research work on Nigeria Medical Plants and Traditional Medical Practices for the Nigeria Natural Medicine Development Agency. He is a professor of pharmacology at the University of Jos.
Professor Maurice M. Iwu (Non-Executive Director)
Prof. Maurice Nkemakolam Iwu was trained at the University of Bradford, Bradford, England. Iwu is the President of Bio Resources Institute of Nigeria. He was Professor of Pharmacognosy at the University of Nigeria Nsukka (1984-1993). He is the founder and Chairman of many companies including The International Centre for Ethnomedicine and Drug Development (InterCEDD).
He has received many academic and professional honours among which are the World Health Organisation (WHO) Visiting Scholar to the Dyson Perrins Laboratory, University of Oxford (1980), Fulbright Senior Scholar Award (Ohio State University, Columbus Ohio). He consults on technological management and the establishment of strategic alliances and multinational cooperative research and development projects for international agencies such as UNIDO, UNDP and the International Organisation of Chemistry for Development (IOCD).
Professor Iwu has presented over 200 scientific papers, published more than 100 research articles and is the author of four books and a member of the Editorial Board of several international scientific journals and has a number of patents to his credit.
In public service, He was the former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission/Chief Electoral Officer of Nigeria (2005 -2010), where the introduced the electronic voter registration regime, established the Electoral the Electoral Institute and held the first successful election the transition of one democratically elected government to another in Nigeria. He is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School.
Thomas Tunbosun Osubu (Non-Executive Director)
Mr. Thomas Osobu is a 1978 MBA Graduate of Boston University, School of Management, Mass, USA. He worked with Nestle New York, USA and later with Nestle Nigeria Plc (formerly Food Specialties Nigeria Limited). He was Marketing Manager, Nigerian Hoechst Limited (now Nigerian Chemicals Plc) from mid-1984 – 1990.
He is a board member of several organizations including May Clinics/Hospital Lagos, Nigerian American Chamber of Commerce, and a Council member of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, Ikeja. He is also a member, Institute of Directors (IOD), National Institute of Marketing (NIMARK) and Associate member, Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) and a Paul Harris Fellows, Rotary Club International.
Phar. Sir. Ike Onyechi (Non-Executive Director)
Pharm (Sir) is a 1980 graduate of Pharmacy from University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He worked as an Industrial Pharmacist in Nigerian Hoechst (now NGC) between 1982 and early 1986, and later as Chief Executive Officer of Alpha Pharmacy & Stores Limited, a company he founded in April 1985.
Alpha Pharmacy is a niche player in the Nationwide Distribution of Rare Ethical Products, (Orphan and Critical car products). Alpha Pharmacy also pays actively in many specialized practices such as: Medical Assisted Reproduction Technology, Oncology, Urology, Nephrology and most significantly in Anaesthesia, where she has been known to provide anaesthestic agents from premeditation to post-operative care.
Mr. Onyechi is a fellow of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) and a fellow of West Africa Post Graduate College of Pharmacists (WAPCP). He is the Chairman, Nigerian Chapter of WAPCP. He is a member of the (International Pharmaceutical Federation (F.I.P), and American Pharmaceutical Association (APHA).
Mrs. Bashirat O. Odunewu (Independent Non-Executive Director)
Mrs. Bashirat O. Odunewu was appointed to the Board on the 22nd of January, 2018. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology, England, and went on to obtain her M.Sc & DIC – Technology and Development from the University of London (Imperial College of Science and Technology).
She has bagged several professional qualifications, inclusive of Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and Member, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb). She is affiliated to the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Nigeria (CIBN) and the Institute of Directors.
She has received various professional awards and has garnered robust professional experience in her over twenty years in the financial services sector, spanning various areas of Corporate and Commercial Banking & Corporate Finance, Treasury and Audit.
She is currently Group Executive, International Banking Group at First Bank Nigeria Ltd.
Mrs. Roseline A. Oputa (Executive Director)
Mrs. Oputa MPSN obtained her Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree from the University of Nigeria Nsukka in 1990. She joined the Company in 1992 as Pharmaceutical Sales Representative and has held various positions such as Manager Sales Training and Customer Satisfaction, National Demand Manager, Group Product Manager, Marketing Manager, Associate Director/Head of Ethical Product Group (EPG), Director of Administration and Corporate Programmes.
She joined the Board of Directors as an Executive Director of Neimeth International Pharmaceutical on 20th October, 2017. Prior to her appointment, she served as operational Director of Sales/Marketing.
