Antimal
Antimal is a combination of sulphadoxine 500mg and pyrimethamine 25mg.
- Mainly indicated for use in Intermittent Preventive Therapy (IPT) of malaria in pregnancy.
- It is also used in the treatment of malaria in combination with an artemisinin derivative e.g Artesunate.
Antimal acts at the tissue stage (Liver Stage) of the plasmodium reproductive cycle by inhibiting the a actions of the enzymes; dihydropteroate synthase (sulphadoxine) and dihydrofolate reductase (pyrimethamine) both of which are involved in the production of folic acid in the parasite cells.

Directions
Adult: 3 tablets at once.
